Mutasa district women demand land deeds

28/07/2015

Empowering women through agriculture is one way of ensuring food safety nets in families.

However most women in Zimbabwe do not have deeds to land owing to the patriarchal system that favoured men on land ownership rights.

Women in Manicaland’s Mutasa district are demanding deeds and entitlement to land as an empowerment tool.

Sydney Mangweka a volunteer with Kumakomo Community Radio station in Mutare spoke to some of the women on the need to have equal land ownership rights.
