Irene Kalulu is a passionate storyteller and radio presenter who holds a Diploma in Journalism and Media Studies. Some of her writing on women’s issues has been featured in magazines like Edgars Club and Jewel. She has written political and transitional justice articles for the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) web portal, Zim In Transition. She also writes for community newspapers in Kwekwe where she resides. She is a member of the Zimbabwe Association of Community Radio Stations (ZACRAS) where she advocates for the opening up of airwaves and for community radio stations to be licensed in Zimbabwe. Irene is an active 2013 alumnus of Mobile Community Zimbabwe (MCZ), and a graduate mentee of the US Embassy Harare Zimbabwe Women Journalists Mentoring Program (ZWJMP). Through these programs, she has been inspired to further her studies and is now pursuing a degree in Peace, Conflict and Governance.
