Gwanda residents reject prepaid water meters

Gwanda town residents in 2015 rejected the introduction of prepaid water meters saying the use of the system will violate people’s right to water.

Municipalities across Zimbabwe are discussing the idea of installing prepaid water meters to force residents who are not paying bills to honor up. However rights groups feel the introduction of the system will disadvantage underprivileged people who struggling to survive.

Linda Mpofu got views from Gwanda residents on how they feel about the Gwanda town council’s idea to introduce prepaid water meters.
