Residents in Mutare are continuously cutting down trees as a source of fuel due to the unaffordable electricity rates. People who spoke to the MCZ reporter said the cutting down of trees are due to high electricity rates therefore residents have resorted to a cheaper source of fuel by cutting down trees. However the activity is being continuously done and is already resulting to deforestation and the disturbance of the ecosystem.
