Kwekwe women’s survival on vending


Street vending is providing an alternative source of employment for women in Zimbabwe. Children are going to school and families are being fed.

But as in any other Zimbabwean cities such as Kwekwe, vendors play a cat and mouse game with city authorities for selling at undesignated places.

What could be done to give dignity to the new profession (vending) that is now feeding many families in Zimbabwe?
