Freedom of the press remains distant in Zimbabwe. Journalists bemoan opening up of the media space to allow a healthy working environment. Zimbabwe is among few Southern African countries that do not have community radio stations. The government has maintained a tight grip on the issuance of broadcast licenses. These were some of the reflections as journalists commemorated World Press Freedom day in Zimbabwe.
