The plight of pregnant women in Bulawayo’s public hospitals and clinics

06/06/2016

Even though funds are being put towards maternal health, so as to improve the health of women and their babies during and soon after pregnancy in Zimbabwe, some expecting mothers bemoan the poor service delivery in most public clinics and hospitals in Bulawayo.

Most of these women complain about spending too much time in long queues and being neglected by nurses in these health facilities, a situation contributing to increased rates of both infant and maternal mortality in Zimbabwe.
