Zim deaf community getting wrong info on HIV and AIDS

18/09/2015

The deaf community in Zimbabwe has been left behind in HIV and AIDS campaigns owing to the mediums of communication that has been used to populate the information.

Most information on HIV and AIDS has over the years been communicated through oral means with sign language.

Deaf Zimbabwe Trust is now holding monthly workshops focusing on different topics they consider important for the deaf community to fully understand.

It has emerged in workshops held so far that a number of people within the deaf community had very little and incorrect information about HIV/AIDS.
