Vending for livelihood but chaos for Zim cities

10/07/2015

Vending has become a source of livelihood for many Zimbabweans. However the trade came with its challenges chief among them human traffic on street walk ways.

The city of Mutare like any other cities in Zimbabwe is battling with vendors who lay their goods and products for sale on the pavements making movement a night mare.

Vendors occupy every space available in the towns and cities. City council authorities have resolved to tax the vendors and relocate them to designated places but the traders are resisting.

Sydney Mangweka – Kumakomo Community Radio Station in Mutare tackles how the issue of vending has been received by residents in his program Reason for Hope.
