There is an increase in street kids in Bulawayo. According to Home of Peace, an organisation that feeds street children there is an increase of approximately 20%.
to one of the founder members of Home of Peace who requested anonymity he said “We are now failing to keep up with feeding the streetkids because of the increase.”

There are several reasons why children run away from home and these include loss of parents and poverty. Streetkids are vulnerable to a lot of abused but the most prominent is sexual abuse.
