Widows in Bulawayo thrive on weaving

This is a story of more than 120 widows from Bulawayo who after they lost their husbands through death decided to join the Bulawayo Home Industries, situated at Mzilikazi Arts and Craft Centre at the heart of one of Bulawayo’s oldest suburb, where they have learnt to use their hands to eke a living out of skillfully crafted sculptures,
basketry, pottery, beadwork and woodwork. This was after they underwent some form of training. The women speak
of how they have managed to take their children to school as well as meeting the daily basic needs and rentals.
